Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant India) :

Currently, the Prime Minister of India announced the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan (self-reliant India Mission) with special economic package - value Rs. 20 lakh crore aimed towards achieving the mission.

PM talking about self-reliance doesn't mean self-centred, but to increase domestic production with strong hold in global supply chain by reforms in FDI, tariff policy, logistics, land, labour, tax, law, etc.

Prime Minister announcements are ~
*The comprehensive economic package is equivalent to 10% of India's Gross Domestic Products (GDP) in 2019-20.
Some other countries also provided economic package -
China : 3.8% of the GDP
Italy : 5.7% of the GDP
France : 9.3% of the GDP
UK : 5% of the GDP
* Out of Rs. 20 lakh crore package, some amount already allocated at the beginning of lockdown incorporating measures from RBI and payouts under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana.
* The package will also focus on land, labour, liquidity and law.
* To increase economic activities by cater to various sections including cottage industry, MSME, labourers, middle class, industries among others.
* Some reforms like JAM trinity, DBT and others are reducing impact of COVID-19. These reforms include supply chain reforms for agriculture, rational tax system, simple & clear laws, capable human resource & strong financial system.
* These reforms are complementary to the strengthen 'Make in India'.
* Self-reliant India will prepare to become strong part of global supply chain. 
* It will not only increase efficiency in various sectors but also ensure quality.
* The package will also focus on empowering the poor, migrants, etc., both from organized and unorganised sectors.
* India has decided that food grains will be provided free of cost at the rate of 5kg per month for two months in May & June 2020, to about 8 crore migrant worker who are not covered under NFSA or State scheme PDS cards.
* This crisis has taught us the importance of local manufacturing, local market, local supply chains. Now, its time to vocal for local products and local products become global.
* According to experts and scientists, the virus is going to be part of our lives for a  long time. People will work with precautions like wearing masks and maintaining 'do gaz ki doori'
* This package for survival economy to revival economy. 
* This is not only infusing money in an economy but it is a reform package to boosting economy.

Five pillars of a self-reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat) :

1. Economy  : which brings in quantum jump and not incremental  change.
2. Infrastructure : It should represent the identity of India.
3. System : based on 21st century technology driven arrangements (Effective, Efficient and Energetic System).
4. Vibrant Demography : source of energy for a self-reliant India (utilisation of demographic dividend)
5. Demand : to strengthen our demand-supply chain should be utilised at full capacity. (Demand driven by Household, Private sector, governments sector)

Atmanirbhar Bharat (आत्मनिर्भर भारत )  in Three Phases during the COVID-19 Crisis :
1. Lockdown Phase : provide income support to unemployed, migrants, women, poor, etc., by various government policies like JAM trinity, DBT, PMKSNY, etc. (direct spending).
2. Transition Phase : opening business activities by providing loan, credit, subsidies, with some conditions.
3. Normal Phase : strengthen demand and supply chain by some reforms in land, labour, law, tax, FDI, tariff, logistics (running business).

Need for Atmanirbhar Bharat :

* Focus on targeting important area - to reduce mass bankruptcy e.g. automobile, hospitality, tourism, MSME, etc.
* Providing money to actual affected migrants by expansion of JAM trinity.
* Administration reforms like -
+Release GST refunds
+ Resolve disputed property
+ Labour reform with social security (Simplification of labour law).
+ Direct and indirect tax reform
* Financial support and simplified law for  MSME - huge capacity to increase economic activities.
* Encourage labour intensive industry like textile industry, leather industry, agro-based industries.
* Better coordination between States, between state and central governments.
* Decentralization of powers.

Due to unprecedented COVID-19 Crisis, we not only need to protect ourselves but also have to keep moving forward.
According to India's culture of वसुदेव कुटुंबकम (the world asaone family) -Progress of India is part of, progress of whole world. Today, the world trust that India has a lot to contribute towards the development of the entire humanity.
